The Bergen Bike Bus is a weekly group ride that helps children bike to school along the Bergen Street bike lane from East New York to Downtown Brooklyn, with volunteer adults in green vests riding as a buffer from traffic.
Riders can follow the route live every Wednesday from 7:15 AM.
The Bergen Bike Bus is part of the NYC Bike Bus network, which helps families find or start a bike bus. In May 2026 the Mayor joined the ride to announce safety improvements for Bergen and Dean Streets.
