A Note From Mike

The Bronx

The Bronx is home to about 1.5 million people across 12 community districts, the only borough on the mainland. It runs from the South Bronx waterfront up through dense residential neighborhoods to the parks, hills, and shoreline of the north and east.

The Bronx is the borough I know the least about, and I'll say that plainly. My main interactions with it have been the Bronx Zoo in BX CB6 and Yankee games in BX CB4. More recently I've added City Island in BX CB10 to the places I've been, and it's kind of surreal — a small fishing-village feel inside New York City.

This is my overview, and I'll keep adding to it. I've lived my whole life in Brooklyn, so while I'm working on data and information to offer a more macro, borough and citywide perspective, and to make that information a little easier to get to, I'm still working from my own experience. You have yours. If you want to share it, email and let me know what you think.
