Presentation and review of an on-premises liquor license application submitted to the State Liquor Authority on behalf of 396 6th Ave. Rest., Inc. dba Lucky Lou's Bar & Grill at 396 6th Avenue (between 6th/7th Streets).

There were a number of community members who appeared to object to this "family oriented sports bar". The community members raised objections to any bar at the location due to proximity to schools, churches, libraries, etc. It was noted that 6th Avenue is far less commercial in character than 5th or 7th Aves. In light of the comments of the community members present and the comments of the committee members, the applicant was asked not to go forward with the application as presented and to have discussion with the neighbors as to a concept more acceptable to the community. Applicant agreed not to move forward with this concept and to reschedule before the committee during our September meeting.
