Presentation and discussion with representatives for the Department of Transportation on a proposal to establish a Gowanus Greenway Connector on Hamilton Avenue between Smith Street and 29th Street in Sunset Park. (Note: This is a joint meeting of the Transportation Committees of Brooklyn CB6 & 7.)
This Gowanus Greenway Connector on Hamilton Avenue is a part of the total 14 mile route of the Brooklyn Waterway Greenway Initiative that is to run from Greenpoint to Owl’s Head Park. This proposal looked only at the part of the Brooklyn Waterway Greenway Initiative that runs from Hamilton Avenue in Brooklyn CB6 to 21st Street in Brooklyn CB7.
Motion was made by Jerry Armer, seconded by Madelaine Murphy:
To recommend approval of the Gowanus Greenway Connector on Hamilton Avenue between Smith Street and 29th Street as presented and also to encourage the expedited implementation of the Gowanus part of the Brooklyn Waterway Greenway Initiative.
