The meeting was called to order at 6:43pm without a quorum.
Presentation and review of a proposed alteration to an existing n-premises liquor license submitted to the State Liquor Authority on behalf of Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club LLC at 514 Union Street (between 3rd Avenue/Nevins Street).
The application was to extend the hours for the Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club LLC.
There were a number of somewhat contentious and long meetings and hearings about a year ago. The applicant’s counsel claims business is popular and there will be no change in the business model only an extension of the hours.
The State Liquor Authority advised that due to a recent change any Community Board stipulated agreement requires a meeting with the Community Board to discuss the change. Directed to the District Manager.
District Manager Craig Hammerman said the SLA is waiting to hear from us before deciding.
Request: Extension of hours from 12 to 2am from Sunday to Wednesday.
Mark Shames: Since there was significant concerns in the initial application, He recommends to the District Manager that applicant meet. Did applicant notify the community?
Counsel: Yes. Showed evidence of outreach (petition). Documentation (picture) of notification was shown.
Motion was made by Mark Shames and seconded by Glenn Kelly, without a quorum, to recommend approval.
The review of the minutes of the last meeting held on December 22, 2014 was deferred to next meeting.
There being no further business to come before the committee, the meeting was adjourned at 6:51pm.
Minutes were taken by Rob Underwood.
