Presentation and review of a new on-premises liquor license application submitted to the State Liquor Authority on behalf of the following:
180 10th St: Urban Golf - Family business - Indoor golf simulators - Bar food and drink - Leroy makes motion to accept, Erica seconds - Passes unanimously
212 Flatbush Ave: Badshah - Indian restaurant - Amending hours to close at 2am - Own other Indian restaurants in the city - Ed makes motion to accept, Erica seconds - Passes unanimously
228 7th Ave: Brewer’s Row - Existing space for over 3 years with beer & wine, expanding to full liquor - Amending hours to close at 2am - Jules makes motion to accept, Erica seconds - Passes unanimously
291 3rd Ave: Valentinos - Pizzaria, slice and pie shop - Early hours - Ed makes motion to accept, Erica seconds - Passes unanimously
347 Van Brunt St: VAL’S - Diner style restaurant/bar - Owners are 3 women with industry experience - One owner lives above the space - A member of the community spoke in support of the application - Leroy makes motion to accept, Erica seconds, Jules abstains for cause - Passes unanimously (with one abstention)
Outsmart NYC - Presentation from organization that provides free support to nightlife and hospitality industries, giving education to prevent sexual violence. - Nightlife doesn’t typically get the traditional HR trainings and resources, so a group of Industry experienced individuals started this program. - Outsmart will go to the business to do a walk through, survey the staff, and create a personalized training program. They use a holistic approach that includes not just tips for preventing sexual violence, but also preventing discrimination and micro-agressions toward people of various races and gender identities. - The training counts as the NY mandated sexual harassment training.
