Forgive a brief rant from a political junkie, but there was a primary election last week, and we may still be weeks away from knowing the winner in many races here in our community, and across the borough, and city. While it’s more important to achieve an accurate count than a fast one, this delay calls out for election reforms such as those outlined by Congresswoman Velázquez in her letter to the New York City Board of Elections. We can’t change the past, but this is an opportunity to improve the future. We certainly shouldn’t hesitate to reform a government agency that cites a “ shortage of envelopes “ as a reason to oppose voting by mail.

Regardless of your thoughts on such matters, I’d recommend checking out the items below my signature, including a GCC plant sale, a democratic event at The Old Stone House and more.
