Summer, Schools, Safely
I hope this email finds you well on this warm summer Tuesday as we approach the much delayed Tax Day , which is tomorrow, July 15th. Not the most anxiously awaited part of the reopening.

I’ll keep it brief but a few things I should highlight as we continue to do the work (face covered/distance) to keep the curve sufficiently flat and allow us to continue to progress in our phased reopening.
There’s some exciting virtual and in-person stuff such as Councilmember Lander’s Heat/Cool Green Rowhouse Webinar and the Cobble Hill Association’s “Stoopfest” and weaving with the Old Stone House.
Looking ahead to next week, I’d like to highlight 2 CB6 related events.
First, on Monday, July 20th at 6:30 PM, our Economic Waterfront Community Development and Housing (EWCDH) Committee will have a zoom meeting which will feature the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce’s CEO Randy Peers, as well as, the Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation’s Ben Margolis and Mark Caserta of the Park Slope 5th Avenue Business Improvement District. If you’d like to attend register here.
Second, on Thursday, July 23rd, beginning at 7:00 PM, we are co-sponsoring a Back-to-School Townhall with Councilmember Brad Lander. The Department of Education's' Deputy Chancellor Adrienne Austin, Executive Superintendent Karen Watts, and District 15 Superintendent Anita Skop will be available to answer questions from parents about scheduling logistics, child care, support for social and emotional well-being, and more. Just like the EWCDH meeting, you should register in advance by clicking here.
As always, I’d recommend checking out the items below, including Assemblymember Simon's summer reading challenge . No matter what you choose to do. I hope you do it safely and that you enjoy the rest of your Tuesday.
