In case it wasn’t clear already, you can add City Council Speaker Johnson and NYC Comptroller Scott Scott Stringer to the list of those calling for a delayed reopening of schools, and questioning the timing and real commitment to a "plan" for outdoor learning. Let’s not forget where we were, as we try but aren’t always ahead of the curve on this matter. You’d be hard-pressed to find officials outside the administration who would agree with the Mayor in declaring that this will be the “safest school year ever.” Even if all were to go reasonably well, this is an impossible and bizarre statement.
