I hope this email finds you well on this humid Thursday as educational events commemorating the Battle of Brooklyn are offered virtually by our friends at the Old Stone House.

Speaking of education, there seems to be confusion about the difference between a strike and a boycott among many journalists. On the subject of learning, there is a growing consensus that we shouldn’t begin doing so in school buildings until they are safe for all. What I mean is that 1,000 schools across the city, many of which are in CB6, shouldn’t still have ventilation problems a little more two weeks before scheduled reopening during a pandemic.

Sticking with schools, but shifting back to concerted labor action, I'm hearing that unless a notable gym member in our district changes course, there’s likely to be a strike. I’ll do my best to keep you posted on this and other community related matters.
