I didn’t plan to start again with Gowanus-related letters and how to move forward, but sometimes that is not how cookies crumble or how the canal is dredged.

As mentioned yesterday, the letter we’ve written asking that the process move forward virtually, and safely, has 43 board member signatories. Today I'm happy to note the addition of the resident association presidents from all NYCHA properties adjacent to the rezoning area - Gowanus, Warren & Wyckoff have signed on to our letter. We have expressed our non-negotiable support and need, for NYCHA capital funding, throughout the many years of this process.

Also, in the spirit of even handedness that we strive for, CB6 member Glenn Kelly asked me to share a letter that he ,and 3 other members of the board, sent this letter to DCP.

If you’re inside tonight you may want to check out last night's EWCDH committee meeting on YouTube. It had no formal agenda, but Councilman Brad Lander was a welcome guest. There was an interesting conversation with committee members as we continued to move the process forward about oversight in the future of the Gowanus even in the absence of City agencies.
