It was weeks and days of anticipation leading up to it, but last night we had our joint CB6 & CB7 last mile warehouse meeting. Again, there was excellent attendance from the leadership of both boards, elected officials, government agencies, and the community. Hopefully, this is a tangible step forward in getting the City to do more than what they did last night, which was listen. 

Not that listening is bad; in fact, you can listen to and watch the entire meeting here on YouTube. But we, and others in our community, have highlighted this issue and repeatedly asked for truck route changes and a traffic study; it’s certainly frustrating to hear that the city is still just listening. However, suppose the community continues to work together on this. In that case, it could lead the City to make up for lost time and [tackle the land-use challenges inherent in the widespread and unchecked growth of last-mile facilities,] change traffic patterns and street uses, to better adapt to the world we live in.

Speaking of the world we live in, it’s still very much in a Covid-19 pandemic, especially for the unvaccinated, but the delta variant can even breakthrough, albeit in milder forms. So, if you’re among those unvaccinated, please click here and figure out where to change that and protect yourselves and your children as far as when the answer is NOW.
