I hope this email finds you well as we await October. Let me draw your attention to three brief items before my regularly scheduled suggestion to scroll further down the email. 

First up, and the final reminder, tonight, beginning at 6:30 pm, The Department of Transportation will present to our Transportation & Public Safety Committee updates and changes for the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. Many have already registered for the meeting, but you can do so by following this link. Second, it’s impressive but not surprising; our community district had the most sign-ups for curbside composting of any district in the city. Compost pickup for those who signed up will begin this coming Monday, October 4th. Of course, you may sign up to receive composting by clicking here. But whether you signed up or not, it’s worth reading coverage of the program’s return and how sign-ups reflect heightened socioeconomic inequality. 

Lastly, Brooklyn has the lowest Covid-19 vaccination rate of the five boroughs, so please, for your health and civic pride, if you haven’t already, get vaccinated asap.
