Covid-19 cases are multiplying, testing lines are long, omicron is spreading, events are postponed, places are closed, and it’s almost cliche to say it’s reminiscent of 2020. However, there are some real differences between now and then.

First, the New York Times hasn’t profiled anyone moving out of the city, or heading to a second home, as evidence of the city’s permanent decline. More importantly, we have vaccines, safety protocols, and, despite the wait, testing. If you recall, tests were hard to come by at the beginning of the pandemic. Now you can wait in line or at City-run brick & mortar test sites; if there is a line, you will have the option of being given a self-test kit to take home.

I don’t want to take up much of your time or attention; I suggest you scroll down for some useful and safe information. I’d especially want to remind folks about Monday’s committee meeting, focusing on last-mile warehouses and freight. The committee will be joined by State Senator Brisport and Dan Wiley of Congresswoman Velasquez’s office.
