Summer, especially August, has a reputation for being lazy. Our community may be an exception to that rule, considering how much is happening.

Summer, especially August, has a reputation for being lazy. Our community may be an exception to that rule, considering how much is happening. That includes redistricting discussions, a congressional candidate forum, hotlines, yarn bombs, and last mile warehouse data collection.

Another group that'll be busy in August is the City Council and Mayor, as they've been ordered to come to another agreement on the city's school budget. This is new territory in the budget process, so I can't offer much other than mention that we've long been opposed to education cuts, so hopefully, this do-over will restore such cuts.

I'll stop here and suggest scrolling and finding out further information. Have a great weekend, and don't forget that Monday, August 8th is the last day you can apply for an absentee ballot for the upcoming primaries.
