Tomorrow, March 16th, we have a BQE-focused CB6 Transportation/ Public Safety Committee meeting. It’s a Zoom meeting, and it’ll start at 6:30 PM. Nearly a hundred neighbors have registered for the meeting, so it’s clearly the place to be. To join them, go to bit.ly/cb6bqe316.
Yesterday at the Miccio center, DOT kicked off the Red Hook Traffic & Truck Study. More meetings will be held in the coming months, but if you couldn’t make it last night, you'll find DOT’s presentation and additional info at bit.ly/redhookportal.
Today saw the groundbreaking for the first of 2 CSO tanks in Gowanus. We stood with Mayor Adams, DEP, EPA, Council Members Hanif & Restler, NYCHA leaders, and the Gowanus Canal Conservancy. As designed, this tank will hold 12 million gallons of sewer overflow during rainstorms leading to less canal pollution and creating 3.6 acres of new public space. Additionally, DEP will host a meeting about the CSO tanks tomorrow, Thursday, March 16th; register at bit.ly/depcso316.
You’ll find more than these three items by reading the rest of this email, so I think you should do it. But no matter what you do, have a good night.
