I'm glad you've survived the earthquake, and that rain is unlikely to fall this weekend. I suspect all the attention given to the upcoming eclipse led to earthquakes, feeling neglected, and thus acting out. With that, I'll cease attempting analysis and shift to civics.   

First, the asylee shelter in Gowanus has opened. I've been clear that we support the shelter and continue to do so. While not perfect by any means, the reality is that not supporting shelters would result in more people sleeping on the street. With that in mind, we've joined Council Member Hanif, Assemblymember Simon, Senator Gounardes, and Congressman Goldman in a joint statement of support for the shelter and making clear that we'll work with DHS and the shelter provider to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Secondly, I'd like to highlight two upcoming CB6 meetings. The first of those meetings is our Full Board meeting this Wednesday, April 10th. It'll start at 6:30 p.m. in person at Van Alen and virtually over Zoo. The second meeting involves us joining CB8 and CB9 to hear from DOT regarding plans(increased safety and pedestrianization) for Grand Army Plaza. It will be held on Monday, April 15th, from 6 until 8 p.m. in person at the Brooklyn Public Library Central Branch.
