I hope you had a good weekend. I’ve got a few brief reminders and updates for this Tuesday, which, for some, may feel like a Monday.

I hope you had a good weekend. I’ve got a few brief reminders and updates for this Tuesday, which, for some, may feel like a Monday.

First, tonight’s committee meeting/youth mental health workshop has been canceled and will be rescheduled. This information has already been shared via email, social media, and the website, but I want to be sure no one missed it.

Second: tomorrow, Wednesday, January 21st, the Transportation Committee will meet at MS 51, starting at 6:30 PM, to hear a presentation and discussion on the Fifth Avenue Vision Plan. Third: on Thursday, January 22nd, at 6:30 PM, we will hold a Landmarks Committee meeting on Zoom to review one application.

Beyond our immediate orbit, an Atlantic Yards meeting is taking place on Thursday, and Governor Hochul has released her proposed executive budget. Budget documents may not be the most exciting read on their own, but they are even denser when read two at a time. For example, read it alongside our district needs assessment, as we await the mayor's executive budget release in the coming weeks. Also, applications for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) are now open.
