NYC and NYS budget breakdowns relevant to CB6 and Brooklyn.
The city and state budget are among the most consequential policy documents produced each year. They determine what gets funded, what gets cut, and what the priorities of government actually are. This tab covers the NYC FY2027 executive budget and the NYS budget as they relate to CB6 and Brooklyn. Content will continue to grow as budget cycles progress.
New York State operates on a fiscal year running April 1 through March 31. The state uses an executive budget model: the Governor develops a comprehensive spending proposal, and the Legislature modifies and enacts it into law. With a budget exceeding $230 billion, the state process directly shapes education funding, transportation capital, housing, and social services that flow into every community district.
