About This District

Brooklyn Community District 13

Brooklyn Community District 13 encompasses Coney Island, Brighton Beach, Bensonhurst, Gravesend, and Sea Gate. Covering 3.3 square miles and home to more than 100,000 residents, it is a waterfront district at the southern edge of the borough.

Coney Island and Brighton Beach bring beaches, amusement areas, high-rise housing, public housing, immigrant commercial corridors, and major seasonal activity into the same district. It is also shaped by coastal risk, transit dependence, aging infrastructure, and the public role of the waterfront.

Thanks, and email if you have any thoughts.
