About This District

Manhattan Community District 3

Manhattan Community District 3 encompasses Lower East Side, East Village, Alphabet City, Chinatown, and Two Bridges. Covering 1.7 square miles and home to more than 160,000 residents, it sits on the east side of Lower Manhattan, along the East River.

The district has tenements, public housing, nightlife corridors, immigrant institutions, waterfront blocks, and several large development sites.
