A Note From Mike

Manhattan

Manhattan is home to about 1.7 million residents across 12 community districts, packed into the densest, most-visited stretch of the city. It runs from the Financial District at the southern tip up through Midtown and the park-lined Upper East and West Sides to Inwood at the north end.

I grew up calling Manhattan “the city,” and I still do. It's great, but it kind of speaks for itself — its GDP is almost as big as Canada's, and it's the most walkable place in America. A lot of that reputation is earned. Left to my own devices I'd take the C train up to my favorite museum, the American Museum of Natural History in MN CB7, especially the aquatic room.

This is my overview, and I'll keep adding to it. I've lived my whole life in Brooklyn, so while I'm working on data and information to offer a more macro, borough and citywide perspective, and to make that information a little easier to get to, I'm still working from my own experience. You have yours. If you want to share it, email and let me know what you think.
