Manhattan Community District 5

Manhattan Community District 5 encompasses Midtown, Times Square, Herald Square, Midtown South, Flatiron District, part of Murray Hill, part of Chelsea, part of Gramercy, and Union Square. Covering 1.6 square miles and home to roughly 51,000 residents, it is the city's central business district in community-board form.

Midtown, Times Square, Herald Square, Midtown South, the Flatiron District, Union Square, and parts of Chelsea, Murray Hill, and Gramercy place offices, hotels, retail, transit, landmarks, parks, and residential buildings in close contact, with very different daytime, nighttime, and visitor populations.
