In yesterday’s update , I said that when we know more about Gowanus, you would too. We don’t yet have a completed EIS but, on Monday, December 2 nd at PS 32, the Department of City Planning (DCP) and Housing, Preservation and Development (HPD), will be presenting an update on the Public Place / Gowanus Green site to our Economic/Waterfront/ Community Development and Housing Committee . So, if this interests you, we hope you can attend.

Moving to reminders, tonight Wednesday, November 20th, 6:30 pm, our Environmental Protection Committee meets at 250 Baltic Street , and at 7 PM, the Red Hook Civic Association meets at  P.S 15.

Tomorrow night, Thursday, November 21 st , 6:30 pm, our T ransportation and Public Safety Committee meets at the 78th Precinct . Also, on Thursday, November 21st, there will be a Red Hook East & West update meeting at the Miccio Center from 6 until 8:00 PM.

On Friday, November 22 nd , Councilmember Menchaca will be holding a Participatory Budgeting meeting at the Red Hook Justi ce Cente r from 1 until 3 pm and, looking ahead to the weekend, greenmarkets will be held are across the district/ at district adjacent locations such as  Grand Army Plaza , Bartell Pritchard Square , Carroll Gardens and the Old Stone House . Markets such as these could be especially helpful prior thanksgiving.

As I say every day, we are lucky to have such an active community, and there is a chance I’ve missed something. If there is an event or something community-centric happening that you think I/others should know about, please let me know .

That’s all I’ve got for today, have a good evening and feel free to share this information however you’d like.

P.S Alternate side parking, like it was today, will be in effect tomorrow, November 21 st , don’t forget to take the Brooklyn Bus Survey , and a CB6 spot could be restaurant of the year!
