Looking to the week ahead, we have happenings focused on transportation, public safety, education, and the environment.

Starting with tonight Monday, November 18th from 6:30 until 8:00 pm, Assemblymember Carroll & Councilmember Lander are hosting a safety town hall at PS 889 . It’s a bit outside of our district, but safe streets are always important. Speaking of street uses, if you haven't already, please take the Brooklyn Bus Redesign survey.

At 6:00 PM tomorrow, Tuesday, November 19th , CEC 15 will meet at PS 58 , and, starting at 7:00 pm, the 78th Precinct will host a " Build The Block " meeting at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church . The following evening, on Wednesday, November 20th , 6:30 pm, our Environmental Protection Committee meets at 250 Baltic Street , and on Thursday, November 21st , also starting at 6:30 pm, our Transportation and Public Safety Committee meets at the 78th Precinct .

On Friday, November 22nd , Assemblymember Carroll’s office, in partnership with the American–Italian Cancer Foundation will be hosting a no-cost mammogram event at 416 7th avenue .  As the flyer indicates , call (718)-788 7221 or (877)628-9090 to make an appointment.

Also, following up on the announcements at last week’s board meeting , the Citizen Squirrel Civic engagement workshop, which we are co-sponsoring, is at the Park Slope Library , Tuesday, January 14th, 2020 at 4:00 PM. It seems crazy to think of having something on the calendar for 2020, yet here we are, with 43 days remaining in 2019.

Of course, as I always say, we are lucky to have such an active community, and there is a chance I’ve missed something. If there is an event or something community-centric happening that you think I/others should know about, please let me know .
