One week from today, most of us get to lean back after a good meal and be thankful on Thanksgiving, but tonight, Thursday, November 21 st , is a typically busy night across the 6th community district of Brooklyn. In Park Slope, at 6:30 PM, our Transportation and Public Safety Committee meets at the 78th Precinct , and from 6 PM until 8 PM, there will be a Red Hook East & West update meeting at the Miccio Center .

Tomorrow, Friday, November 22 nd , C ouncilmember Menchaca will be holding a Participatory Budgeting meeting at the Red Hook Justice Center from 1-3 pm. Looking to the weekend, we have farmers markets across the district/ district adjacent at Grand Army Plaza , Bartell Pritchard Square , Carroll Garden s and the Old Stone House ; so you may want to fill the larder for Thanksgiving.

Next week, we have one committee meeting, and that's our Permits & Licenses Committee on Monday, November 25 th , at 6:30 PM in the Community Room at 250 Baltic Street .  On Tuesday, November 26 th , the Cobble Hill Association will host its annual fall meeting in the Episcopal Church at 326 Clinton Street from 7:00 until 8:30 PM and, on the same night, at the Grand Army Plaza Library , a Census 2020 "Teach-In" will be held from 6:00 until 7:30 PM. The following day, Wednesday November 27 th , “Thanksgiving Eve,” is known for packed roads and bars rather than civic involvement.

As I mentioned yesterday , on  Monday, December 2 nd  at   P.S 32 , the Department of City Planning (DCP) and Housing, Preservation and Development (HPD), will be presenting an  update on the Public Place / Gowanus Green site to our Economic/Waterfront/ Community Development and Housing (EWCDH) committee. So, if Gowanus interests you, we hope you can attend. The week after the EWCDH meeting, on Wednesday, December 11 th , our final General Board Meeting of 2019 will be held at the Cobble Hill Health Center beginning at 6:30 PM.

As I say every day, we are lucky to have such an active community, and there is a chance I’ve missed something. If there is an event or something community-centric happening that you think I/others should know about, please let me know .

So, that’s all I’ve got for today, have a good evening and feel free to share this information however you’d like.

P.S Alternate side parking, like it was today, will be in effect tomorrow, Friday, November 22 nd .

Best,
Mike Racioppo, District Manager
