Our Transportation & Public Safety Committee meets tonight at the Miccio Center beginning at 7:00 PM, as even my most casual readers likely know by now. EDC will present and take questions about plans for the BQX . There’s another reminder for this meeting below, along with a couple of articles on housing policy and more.
Speaking of housing policy, I’m happy to note that the advocacy work we, along with tenants such as Joe Anne Brown, Councilmember Levin’s Office and the Mayor’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Lincoln Restler did, led to NYCHA extending the lease deadlines as this property goes into the RAD program. While this is in line with the goals of the meetings that started earlier this month, it is distinct from our advocacy to ensure that improvements in the living conditions within NYCHA show tangible results before the pending Gowanus Rezoning goes forward.
Please read on and have a good evening; feel free to share this information however you’d like, and don’t forget about the BQX presentation tonight.
