There can be no parade this year, and last year now seems far away, but, a year ago, in our community, we marched in the first truly inclusive Brooklyn Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. The Brooklyn Irish LGBTQ Organization (BILO) became the first LGBTQ group to march in the event . Our Chair, Peter Fleming, had been part of a long fight to make this into a reality. This example can serve as a reminder to all, including myself, that we can get through really tough times and progress as a community. 

Moving to some more practical matters, I remind everyone with regret that CB6 is not taking walk-in constituents until further notice. Also, due to executive order , all land use review and landmark designations are delayed until further notice.

Please don’t forget to fill out the census and take note that while schools are closed, lunch and breakfast are still available in all schools from 7:30 am until 1:30 pm and that Alternate Side Parking will be suspended starting tomorrow through at least Tuesday, March 24t h. Parking meters will remain in effect.
