Nonetheless, I hope this message finds you well. Also, big thanks to everyone who signed up for CB6 text updates and for the feedback it’s generated that’s helped make the updates more informative. 

As of this email, there are 30,811 confirmed COVID-19 cases in New York State , 17,856 in New York City, and 4,656 in Brooklyn. We mourn the 285 people who have died in the state, including 199 of our fellow city residents. Available statistics show people between the age of 18 and 44 accounts for 46% of all infections while 33% of those infected are between 45 and 64 years old. The remaining 21 percent of infections are split between 11% of people from the age of 65 to 74, 8% are over 75 years of age and 2 percent of cases are found in those under 17 years of age. 

These numbers reflect an increase of thousands from yesterday alone, and it’s likely to increase for a while. If your labor is necessary and you can’t stay home, THANK YOU for serving others. But if you can stay home , STAY HOME! 

Not staying home will result in a greater time period during which people say (or shout) “ STAY HOME ” by hitting “Caps Lock” in newsletters from governmental agencies.
