I hope this message finds you well and safe this spring Tuesday, as sadly our necessary "Pause" must continue. 

We've already had over 100 people sign up for tonight's "Community Check-In" panel, and once we can have it up on youtube, you'll be able to follow there and on our Facebook page. I will send out a link to everyone on the list, and it should be a few minutes after zoom starts. 

So to reiterate, tonight, Tuesday, April 7th at 6:30 PM, we are co-sponsoring a  " Community Check-In " with Councilman Lander , Assemblymembers Carroll , Simon , and Ortiz with panelists from agencies including the DOHMH , DOE , DOT , Parks , FDNY , NYPD ,  NYC Census 2020 ,  and NYP Brooklyn Methodist and with the recent edition of the Freelancers Union and the MTA .  The list is still in formation and is subject to change.

As for the chilling facts of the crisis, as the Governor announced earlier, yesterday we saw the largest single-day increase of COVID-19 deaths across New York, with 731 people dying . However, as was noted, and it is little comfort to do so, death is a lagging indicator. Yet we can look forward and be encouraged that the rate of hospitalization is falling and that we may be hitting a plateau of the spread of this virus in NY. However, it's still far too early and anecdotal to say for sure, and in any event, a lack of vigilance could lead to another spike.

As is the case every weekday, you'll find some resources and items of interest below my email signature. 

So, please, unless you are needed on the front lines, STAY HOME. While home, if you can afford to support local businesses, please do so. If you are among those keeping society intact, THANK YOU .
