COVID numbers for NYC look “okay” for now, but there is a troubling detail buried within them concerning the infection rate for people in their twenties , which has nearly doubled in the last month. Nobody is invincible, and young people can be a spearhead for a COVID-19, spike. Regardless of demographics, protect everyone else. I don’t know if many people under 30 read my emails, and those that do are probably among the most responsible, but please keep your distance & cover your face. Not just in the “my mask protects you” way but as an acknowledgment of the reality that the virus doesn’t discriminate, and nobody wants to go back into lockdown as have other states, including California .

In this fight, actions can have far-reaching consequences; for example, in New York State, had we “paused” one week earlier, based on a study from Columbia University,  17 thousand fewer people would have died. 

I don’t have much else to say aside from that reminder to stay vigilant in this fight.
