In this weather, nobody wants to read ramblings, so I’ll be brief. There is a heat advisory that will begin today at noon and be in effect until Wednesday evening. Cooling centers will be open while still requiring social distancing protocols. Those simple protocols, keeping a safe distance & wearing masks, are what have lead us to yesterday's .78 positivity percentage, which is the lowest we’ve seen since tracking began back in March.  

Although I may be preaching to the choir, our city is getting some lousy coverage these days from places like the New York Times, which uses suburban real estate agents/ interests as their primary sources for articles telling people why they should leave the city. I think it’s important to point out that these suburbs all have a higher rate of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people when compared to New York City. 

New York City has 2,743 cases per 100,000 residents. By comparison, also per every 100 thousand residents, the number of COVID -19 cases in Westchester is 3,732, Nassau County 3,208, Suffolk County 2,955, Orange County 2,894, and 4,272 in Rockland County.
