A big thank you to everyone who responded to my takedown of the myth of a less infectious, and therefore safer, suburbia. It always feels good to be reminded you’re not the only one who loves living in our city, borough, and community.
That doesn’t mean that the city is at its best. Objectively bad things still abound. However, good things are happening in CB6, almost daily, and you'll find them in the updates below my signature.
Speaking of good things happening in CB6, I had lunch with the 25th state senate district’s new occupant in the coming term, Jabari Brisport (he is running unopposed). The district includes parts of the CB6 neighborhoods of Gowanus, Red Hook, Carroll Gardens and Park Slope. I left confident that we’ll have a fighter for tenants, safe streets, a safe environment, and more. Expanding my horizons, the senator-elect introduced me to an excellent vegan burger- a description I would’ve previously thought to be oxymoronic. He, of course, has big shoes to fill as he succeeds retiring State Senator Velmanette Montgomery.
Anyway, I'm sure we’ll be hearing more from Jabari in the coming months and years, in the meantime stay safe and cool, check out the items below my signature, and enjoy the rest of your Tuesday.
