I hope this email finds you well as we head into the official final weekend of summer. Before getting into anything else, for all those celebrating Rosh Hashanah, I wish you L'shanah tovah. 

You may have noticed the late Brooklyn born Howard Zinn has been “trending” since the head of our Federal Executive Branch decided to issue an executive order to“ promote patriotic education.” For that reason I’ll remind everyone that Howard Zinn said, “you can’t be neutral on a moving train, ”. So, if you don't like our current direction, or want it to accelerate in the same direction, register to vote, fill out the census and help others do it. It doesn’t take much time, but these things have consequences.

Another way to avoid neutrality is to attend some of our upcoming meetings, such as October 5th’s Economic, Waterfront, Community Development & Housing Committee meeting, or October 14th’s general board meeting. The agendas and registration links are in formation, and I’ll send them out ASAP, but for now, you can mark your calendar.
