Despite what some in infinitely higher office than I say, COVID-19 is not the flu, and I don’t mean that in a good way. You should get a flu shot this year, and still, we need to keep our distance and our faces covered throughout October on all days in addition to Halloween. 

Thankfully, while not as satisfying as in-person, we have zoom and meetings like last night’s CB6 Economic, Waterfront, Community Development & Housing Committee meeting (EWCDH). As previewed in previous newsletters, we had a presentation from OATH Commissioner Joni Kletter on the MEND Program and Bronx CB6 district manager John Sanchez. The committee unanimously approved recommendations based on both presentations. One to support the MEND program, and the other in support of affordable housing and shouldering our fair share of it in a citywide housing crisis. Both of those recommendations will be voted on at next Wednesday’s General Board Meeting.
