I’ve heard that NYC was slandered on national TV last night being characterized as a "ghost town". Yeah, the Ghostbuster movies are set here, but it’s hardly a “ghost town” in the sense of it being vacant with tumbleweeds instead of bicyclists, pedestrians, and now diners in the streets.

There was one place, even though it was virtual, that was certainly not empty, and that was last night’s CB6 Landmarks/ Land Use meeting. Close to 600 people registered, and close to 400 attended. For those who couldn’t make it or want to relive or review it, click here. When you click, you’ll find a recording of the meetings and the Gowanus presentation that was the focus of the meeting. You’ll also find links to sign up for the two DCP Gowanus precertification meetings that were announced last night. The first for November 19th will focus on Gowanus Green/ Public Place, while the second, on December 2nd, will focus on Gowanus Infrastructure. 

But before those two meetings, and unrelated to any major rezoning, CB6 has three committee meetings next week. All three will begin at 6:30 PM starting on Tuesday when Permits & Licenses meets followed by Youth, Human Services, and Education (YHSE) meeting on Wednesday. Last, but not least, Transportation & Public Safety will meet on Thursday.

Before all that, we’ve gotta get through the weekend, which has some happenings that you can find out about by scrolling down this email. However, before you do that, I’d recommend reading about “reality” and make a plan for voting early.
