As always I hope this email finds you well. I start to today with the equivalent of a CB6 “spoiler.” Last night, as previewed yesterday, our Permits and Licenses Committee met, achieved quorum and unanimously approved an on-premises liquor license for a new restaurant at 280 5th Avenue. You may be familiar with the other businesses of last night’s applicant, such as the Brooklyn Height’s Grand Canyon restaurant. The most recent occupant of this location was the "Blue Ribbon Brooklyn.” With that, this application will move to the full board at our November 18th meeting while today’s newsletter will move on to tonight’s meeting.

Tonight’s Youth, Human Services, and Education Committee meeting will start at 6:30 PM. The agenda will begin with our super District 15 superintendent Anita Skop, discussing the current school year. Following Superintendent Skop the committee will start to plan for resuming CB6’s Youth Service Awards. 

Looking ahead to tomorrow, we have our Transportation & Public Safety Committee meeting at 6:30 PM. Before that, substituting for the Barnacle Parade, there is a Climate Awareness march in Red Hook at 3 PM.
