Congrats, Covid, Continue

First, a reminder/clarification that, since tomorrow is Veterans Day, our board is not meeting on it’s usually scheduled second Wednesday of the month. Instead, it will be held next Wednesday, November 18th, at 6:30 PM.

First, a reminder/clarification that, since tomorrow is Veterans Day, our board is not meeting on it’s usually scheduled second Wednesday of the month. Instead, it will be held next Wednesday, November 18th, at 6:30 PM. It’s great to see that, based on the over one hundred people already registered, civic interest seems to be increasing, but I apologize if this schedule throws anyone off.

Moving to less mundane matters, I’d like to congratulate all of those honored by our Borough President today as Brooklyn Covid Heroes. Those honored included Dr. Fauci and our friends at the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club, Redemption Church, Red Hook Relief and CB6 member, and incoming Warren Street Tenant Association president Joe Ann Brown. Our community is indeed lucky to have them.

Speaking of COVID, we are still seeing a steady increase and fearing and nearing another shutdown. Schools shifting to fully remote learning and the city no longer allowing indoor dining, are some of the first things that will happen if we don’t flatten the curve out once again. So, for the sake of students, local businesses and everything else we care about, please stay safe, keep your distance, and wear a mask.

While not a safety precaution, I recommend scrolling down and checking out the items, including notice of three meetings happening next week that appear below my signature.

Best,
Mike Racioppo, District Manager
