As always, I hope this email finds you well. From the moment the winner of the presidential election was announced, the weekend became a surreal celebratory scene across our community and city.

As always, I hope this email finds you well. From the moment the winner of the presidential election was announced, the weekend became a surreal celebratory scene across our community and city. I don’t know what my mental capacity will be for the rest of my life, but I can’t see myself forgetting the celebrations, and the only time horns honking didn’t irritate me. 

However, while even a cynic like me enjoyed the celebration, we mustn’t lose sight of the downside of large gatherings. There is a new wave of COVID infections. Nearly all of our metrics to assess the spread of the virus have ticked up passed worrying thresholds. The 7-day rolling average test positivity rate is 2.26% citywide and far higher in some hotspot neighborhoods. Fortunately, the average in CB6 zip codes is lower, but that will only remain the reality if we stay vigilant up to and even after getting the vaccine that seems to be coming out of the phase three trial.

I’ll end with that and recommend reading below my email signature to find out some more happenings for the week. Lastly, when it’s safe and legal to meet in person again, I’ll see if we can arrange a meeting amid plantings at The Four Seasons.
