I hope this email finds you well after the weekend and before the beginning of the holiday season. I'm interested to see, out of sheer curiosity, in a year in which days blend, will the holiday season be notable in an uplifting or Covid spreading way?

An indicator of people maintaining holiday-related rituals is our packed airports and the remarkably long Covid tests lines. I've got no inherent problem with rituals, but I hope these behaviors don't intensify Covid's second wave.

Either way, the only certainty is a persistent lack of clarity about what measures will be taken, what’s potentially remaining open or will be required to close. Pick a color from our (Red, Orange, Yellow) zone-based system? Industry based? Schools closed based on localized infection rates? I don’t know, but if it gets to that point, or any such changes are made, I’ll share whatever info I get.

This week, in deference to Thanksgiving, we are light on meetings. We will be revving right back up in the first two weeks of December. So I recommend marking your calendar for next Wednesday, December 2nd, for DCP’s Gowanus infrastructure presentation and Thursday, December 3rd for our Landmarks/ Land Use meeting

I also recommend reading below my email signature. But even if you choose not to stay safe while enjoying the rest of your Monday.

Best,
