I hope this email finds you well as the time between sunrise and sunset set has reached its shortest duration. To those celebrating the winter solstice, I wish you all the best. I’ll be brief with a few reminders and service updates, so you can finish reading before dark.

I’ll start with a final reminder that tonight our EWCDH committee will meet at 6:30 PM with a presentation about the proposed Governors Island rezoning plan. You can register for it here, but if you miss it, I’ll be sure to post the meeting on YouTube along with all related documents.

This will be the penultimate CB6 meeting of the year. The grand,finale will be next Monday when our Permits and Licenses committee meets to review a liquor license application for a new on-premises liquor license at 259 4th Avenue.

Take note that during the intervening week between those committee meetings, alternate side parking restrictions will be suspended, and holiday recess will start for public schools on Wednesday. Also, the DSNY collection is still in progress, but a bit delayed. If one of your collection days is Christmas Friday, then hold your material back until their next collection day. However, if that’s not possible, your Christmas gift is that you won’t be penalized.
