Last night, as can now be seen on YouTube, our Landmarks/ Land Use Committee met to review two items. One item, a BSA application for 166 Coffey Street, was tabled.

Last night, as can now be seen on YouTube, our Landmarks/ Land Use Committee met to review two items. One item, a BSA application for 166 Coffey Street, was tabled. The other, a Certificate of Appropriateness(C of A), allowed for an enlarged masonry opening to accommodate new doors on the second floor rear facade 424 7th Avenue was approved as presented. The next step for the “C of A” will be when our full board, alongside other items, votes on it at Wednesday night’s board meeting. The tabled item will come back to the committee for further review.

Before I recommend reading on below, I want to thank our friends at the Gowanus Dredgers for highlighting that “yet another” warehouse is planned for Red Hook at the former S.W. Bowne Grain Storehouse. This news may be inherently interesting, but it’s especially interesting considering how it reinforces the need for DOT to conduct a comprehensive traffic study for Red Hook. We’ve made it clear to DOT that it is a priority and will continue to make that case.
