I hope this email finds you well as we make our way through the, regardless of snow or a marmot’s predictions, last week of winter.

As many were reminded last night, it’s been a year since we lost the first of over 30 thousand fellow New Yorkers to COVID-19. With vaccinations becoming more widely available and infection rates dropping, we are starting to see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. However, there is still some oncoming traffic in the tunnel, and we cannot let up. I don’t think anyone wants to be in another lockdown as we see in Italy right now.

Rest assured, that doesn’t mean letting up concerning civic involvement, as there are plenty of safe options. Those options include, but are not limited to, a Gun Violence Town Hall tonight, Small Business Webinars tonight & tomorrow, a Rent Freeze Webinar Thursday, and our Transportation & Public Safety Committee will meet Thursday evening

On that note, I’ll recommend that you keep reading but get vaccinated if you can and, most importantly - beware the ides of March!

Best,
