Today is the day before Saint Patrick’s Day, last year’s parade was canceled entirely, and this year there’s only a virtual parade. Despite it being virtual, the celebration will be real, and hopefully, next St.

Today is the day before Saint Patrick’s Day, last year’s parade was canceled entirely, and this year there’s only a virtual parade. Despite it being virtual, the celebration will be real, and hopefully, next St. Patrick's Day, people can celebrate together. So get the COVID-19 vaccine when eligible.

Speaking of vaccine eligibility and Saint Patrick’s Day, beginning tomorrow, eligibility will expand to public-facing, governmental, non-profit, and building service workers. If you fall into one of those categories, use that City or State site to schedule an appointment. You can also call 877-VAX-4NYC or 877-829-4692 to schedule an appointment. I'm told that, while imperfect, it is getting easier as vaccine supplies have been increasing. 

However, civic life will remain largely virtual for the foreseeable future. Tonight, as mentioned by his representative at last week’s board meeting, Comptroller Stringer will hold an event on Work, Family, and Caregiving in COVID-era. Also tonight, and mentioned at last week’s board meeting, the Fifth Ave. Park Slope BID and Heat/Cool Smart Brooklyn host a webinar on green options for small businesses. 

This week and next, more things are happening, like 2 CB6 committee meetings this Thursday, March 18th, and this coming Monday, March 22nd.
