I hope that this email finds you well on this rainy Thursday. I’ll be brief with a couple of quick items.

First, it may interest people to know that the City Planning Commission approved Zoning for the Coastal Flood Resiliency (ZCFR), citywide zoning rules. The hope is that ZCFR will allow homeowners to build or raise homes above current levels making significant weather events such as Hurricane Sandy less damaging. This would be a good thing, and it may sound familiar since we approved of it in December, and it now moves to the City Council. 

As previously mentioned, tonight, our Transportation & Public Safety Committee meets via zoom at 6:30 PM. The public safety portion, chaired by Jerry Armer, introduces the community to Captain Frantz Souffrant, the recently appointed Commanding Officer of the 78th precinct. On the other side of the committee’s equation, Transportation, chaired by the Prospect Park West bike lane’s namesake, Eric McClure, will focus on CitiBike. Specifically, a presentation from DOT on plans from the program’s expansion. If that interests you, click here and join the fun.
