I’ll start with objectively good news, and that is the City’s COVID 19 infection rate falling under 5% for the first time in months, and anyone over 50 years old can now get a vaccine without an appointment at places like the Museum of Natural History. At this point, I’ll shift to more CB6 specific items. 

First, the Temporary Restraining Order(TRO) that delayed the certification of the Gowanus Neighborhood Rezoning has been lifted by Judge Katherine Levine. The City intends to certify the rezoning today, and just this afternoon, the Draft Environmental Impact Statement(DEIS) was published. Once the rezoning is certified, the formal Uniform Land Use Review Procedure will begin. We will have online and in-person (outdoor) options for our joint public hearing with CB2. As the specifics of that are determined, we will share them. 

This week will again be a busy one in our community with 2 of our committee’s meetings. Tonight EWCDH meets, and on Thursday, our Landmarks/Land Use committee meets. Also, take note that a week from tonight, our Permits & Licenses Committee will meet. 

There lots of other stuff happening across our community, and for that reason, you should read on below. But no matter what you choose to do, stay safe, get vaccinated, and enjoy the rest of your day.
