I hope my emails find you well on this 20th day of April. A date that’s been considered, for years, something of a holiday by some folks, and that now includes CB6 resident Senator Schumer, who today, on the floor of the United States Senate, referred to it as an official holiday.

Coming down a bit from the U.S Senate, I’ll shift to more CB6 specific items. For example, last night, our EWCDH committee met, and If you missed it or want to rewatch it, you can see it here on YouTube. Looking to a few future CB6 meetings, our Landmarks/ Land Use Committee will meet this Thursday, April 22nd, and Permis & Licences meets this coming Monday, April 26th. For May, we have our full board meeting on Wednesday, May 12th, and our Parks committee will meet on Wednesday, May 19th. All of these meetings will be held over zoom and are slated to begin at 630 PM.

I’m sure some are reading this and wondering about Gowanus as it’s rightly been a hot topic. You’re not alone in that wonderment as we’re still awaiting instructions with regards to what yesterday’s decision to lift the TRO means as far as practical application. One thing that it already means is that the environmental impact documents (DEIS) are available and, with 26 chapters and over one thousand pages, there’s a lot to sink our collective teeth into

So I’ll stop here, suggest you check out more that’s happening across our community, stay safe, get vaccinated and enjoy the rest of the day.

Best,
