I’ll begin with the news that the City’s Curbside Composting Program is coming back. Enrollment begins this summer; service will begin in the fall, and I’ll share more information as it’s received.

Moving to CB6’s direct orbit, tonight at 630 PM, our Landmarks/Land Use Committee meets over zoom. While outdoors, in person, and at a safe distance, the North Flatbush BID’s Earth Day celebration runs until 8 PM, while our friends, the Gowanus Dredgers, host Art Classes by the Canal. Moving to a virtual discussion about outdoor things, tonight at 6 PM, a wide range of open space and park advocacy groups hold a Borough President Candidates Forum.
Speaking of Parks, our Parks Committee, led by its chair Glenn Kelly and the NYC Parks Department, will hold a series of CB6 Park tours beginning on May 1st. Check out the tentative schedule here and take note that there will be a Parks Committee meeting on Wednesday, May 19th.
On that note, I’ll stop and recommend you read on below or read another chapter or two of the lengthy Gowanus DEIS, stay safe and enjoy the rest of your Thursday.
