You may have heard that former and ostensibly future CB6 resident Mayor de Blasio announced that the city would “fully reopen” on July 1st. I’ve had a few inquires about this, and, aside from public statements, I have no further knowledge of what it means. However, the Mayor called this the “ Summer of New York,” so we hope it turns out better than the “Summer of George.” 

Speaking of hope, there is good reason to believe that if President Biden’s plans, outlined in his address last night to Congress, passes, the goals of congresswoman Velasquez’s Public Housing Emergency Response legislation will be closer to being met. That would mean billions of dollars for long-needed capital improvements in NYCHA properties and is why we passed a resolution to support the legislation earlier this year. 

On that note, I’ll stop avoid rambling about other legislative issues and recommend reading on below, remembering Alternate Side Parking is suspended tomorrow, getting vaccinated, and enjoying the rest of your day.
