Covid numbers continue to look better but don’t forget millions of New Yorkers are yet to be vaccinated against Covid-19. If you’re not vaccinated, click here to change that ASAP.

Before focusing on the week ahead, I’ll mention the great turnout last night at the Old Stone House for the candidate forum we co-sponsored. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen. Those thanks extend especially to Park Slope Civic Council Trustee Timothy Giles, Old Stone House Executive Director Kim Maier, and the moderators, Sadef Kully and Ben Verde.
Looking to the near future and CB6 meetings, tonight at 6:30, our Permits & Licenses Committee meets to review three liquor license applications over zoom. On Thursday, May 27th, our Landmarks/ Land Use Committee Meets at 6:30 PM to review 3 Landmark items and host an informational presentation from DCP regarding the pending rezoning of Gowanus.
Speaking of the proposed Gowanus Rezoning, as mentioned in previous newsletters, CB6 is holding a joint public hearing with Brooklyn Community Board 2 next Thursday, June 3rd. The hearing will allow for both in-person testimony at Washington Park and remote testimony via zoom. To accommodate the great level of interest, the hearing will begin earlier than our usual meeting time. The hearing starts at 3:30 PM, and it is expected to go later than usual. For information on this, please see the hearing notice.
On that note, I’ll stop, recommend reading on for more information, note that there will not be a remote option for school this fall, and stay safe.
